Our Services
Seasonal
Spring Put-up: Conner's will come to your home to re-hang the awning onto the frame once the threat of snow is gone. Re-hanging will typically be done with the same string from the prior year, unless it is either requested to be new or was old and in need of replacement. There is a small charge for all new string due to the time increase.
Fall Take-Down: Conner's will come to your home to remove the awning from the frame in the fall and roll the awning up for storage. Typically our customers will store the awnings at their homes until the spring. Conner's recommends taking down the awning once the weather becomes too cool to use your outdoor space. Most residential awnings are not designed to handle any amount of snow load and leaving the awning up during a storm could tear/damage the canvas or metal framework.
Maintenance
Cleaning: Conner's offers cleanings for both patio and retractable awning covers. Cleaning is a cost-effective way to ensure you get the longest life possible out of your awning fabric. Cleaning will remove pollution, bird droppings, mildew and other contaminations that can cause the awning to weaken and age prematurely. Cleaning is typically performed over the winter months while the awning is not in use. We recommend cleaning the awning everything 2-3 years; however, a higher frequency may be needed depending on the environment and accumulation of dirt.
If cleaning can not be performed over winter or your type of awning is not generally removed from the building, we can offer on site cleaning during the warmer months, weather permitting.
Repairs: Conner's offers repairs for awnings in certain circumstances. Generally, if the awning fabric is still in good condition, small holes and tears can be repaired or patched. Repairing an awning is not always possible if the fabric is older and deteriorated.
Replacements
Recovers: If your fabric has aged and is need to replacement, Conner's can offer that too. We can measure your existing framework or retractable awning and order a new cover to fit. We offer a wide selection of fabrics and patterns to fit almost any style or need. For our area, we typically see covers needing to be replaced every 7-10 years. This timeframe can generally be extended some with regular cleanings and timely put-up and take-downs.
For our retractable awning clients, typically the front hanging valance will deteriorate before the main body of the awnings since it is always exposed. Valances can be ordered separately and replaced independently from the rest of the awning.
